In your book, when your illustrations portray a backhand, it's not shaped like a box of cards and more like a skateboard ramp. Is there a reason for this?

Have been finding your classes and book super helpful but I have a question - how big would you recommend doing the figures when doing 1 minute gesture drawing of loads of different poses? (on paper with pencil, not digital)

Thank you so much for sharing, Michael. You make it easy to follow your thought process. I keep connecting dots I collected over the years, witch is amazing. But the best part is: Getting into resonance increases my motivation to draw. To just pick up a pencil and get going. This is fueled also by realising, that your "line work" in those exercises and preparations are sloppy. Its more like exploring rather then being precise. For me this helps a lot to get over the hump of "just starting". This tolerance to your own handiwork seems very important on the way to developing habits. Habits, that help rather then hinder your progress. I love that about your videos and the way you teach.

Hey Michael! I wanted to ask if you could do a little “line measurement” video like you talked a little here! I think the main problem for me is proportions due to not knowing which size the lines on the gesture drawing should be, so a little explanation on how long each should be on average would be awesome!

Very good tip. Using composition techniques you can capture the proportions correctly and also have a better grasp of the silhouette. PS: Also, can you share what is the model from the reference?
